
Don't take pills to shed the excess pounds...
That's what the recent research suggests after a review on the effectiveness of using dietary supplements for weight loss.
Supplements studied were Chitosan, chromium picolinate, Ephedra sinica, guar gum, hydroxymethylbutyrate (HMB).
The data for all but Ephedra provided no evidence of effectively reducing body weight. Ephedra, however, was recently banned by the Food and Drug Administration after numerous complaints about adverse side effects.
