You Really Should Give Cooking a Go!

Let's not beat about the bush. Probably the most important reason and the best incentive to whip out your apron and cookery book (that you were given for Christmas by your great aunt Betty with the prickly beard); is because (and we're not claiming that this is all it takes) prawn shells might not be the only things you'll be peeling off at the end of the evening!
With the dawn of thousands of cookery programmes came the dawn of male chefs in the spotlight. Suddenly it wasn't just housewives who rushed home from the school run to watch Channel two at 4.30. Culinary inspiration came from young, dynamic chefs who all the girls fancied, more because they were nifty with a knife than desperately good looking. Women swoon and men realise that cooking is actually pretty cool. Gone are the days of step-by-step recipes and programmes showing neatly dressed women, not to mention garnishes that take longer to create than the actual meal. It doesn't have to take hours to be delicious and great looking! (as you boys are always telling us!) There are no set rules in cooking anymore. Recipes are used as guidelines and once we are little more confident, we are actually encouraged to experiment (which is never a bad thing and often leads to all manner of surprises!)
Our point? You will have made the effort and that's what counts. Being cooked for and having a meal in the comfort of home, can mean so much more than just handing over your credit card or picking up the phone for a take away...(don't get me wrong however, those things will always have their place). Go on, release the chef inside you and your green Thai curry might not be the only thing that you spice up!
